WTC I: " Das Wohltemperirte Clavier." 24 Preludes and other pieces, compiled in the '20s.
WTC II: " Zweiter Teil des Wohltemperirte Clavier." 24 Preludes and other pieces, compiled in the '40s.
Clav. I: " Clavier Übung." Six Partitas, published in '31. Each partita
a succession of half-dozen pieces incorporating dance-like meter.
Clav. II: " Zweiter Teil der Clavier Übung." 14 pieces, published in '35, and highlighting the two main foreign styles of the time.
Clav. III: " Dritter Teil der Clavier Übung." 27 pieces for the organ, published in '39. Many of these can be learned at the piano.
Clav. IV: " Aria mit verschiedenen Veränderungen." 30 pieces, published in '41. Some are not for the piano, but with various
reworkings are often learned at the piano.
Auf-An: " Auffrichtige Anleitung." 30 pieces for beginners, compiled in '23, in which "lovers of the piano, especially those desirous of learning, are shown a clear method of how to play."
